Amidst the chaos of the last 2 hours of Art HK 10, I went back 4 times (yes, 4 times) to stare at this particularly endearing blood red splatter. Hopes high (my wallet winced) but only to find out that James Nares is in the "hey, i made it, now i can spend my money on art" category. Eyespy teared. Yet another empty handed excursion...
Who says friendship bracelets are exclusively for slumber parties, tween girls, seventeen magazines and a whole lot of sugar high?
Combining an innocent definition of friendship, great middle school craftsmanship and an eye for nana's heirloom jewelry, dynamic NY partners in crime Stacy Herzog and Sarah Reid created a whimsical collection of reminiscent chic, classy meets schoolgirl, naming their bracelet brand after their grandmothers, Frieda & Nellie. Eyespy is now itching to weave many promises of eternal bond! Wise Kids/Toys R Us, I will raid you.
Great initative from the ever so supportive Louis Vuitton's Arts and Culture Department, tonight, I'll be blasted by the energetic Brazilian duo Humberto and Fernando Campana with a whole lot of stuffed animal fun loving on a chair.
My favourite, why obviously the panda explosion!
Check it! Exhibition from May 28 to June 6
The Campana Brothers Louis Vuitton Gallery 5 Canton Road, TST
Last year, contemporary Iraninan artist Shadi Ghadirian's "Like Everyday" caught my eye with its rubber glove domesticated glory, but no surprises here, my wallet and my heart sank when the upturned nose gallery owner sneered at me and "casually" mentioned how much it was to shoo me away. The faceless portrait series was recently sold at an auction in Dubai for US$37,500 - US$12,500. Yikes. :(
Tickets to ART HK 10 are HK$200 at the door.

I may not mix with triathlon competing, chest thumping, extreme sweating macho boys and she-males, but I did notice a rather iridescent exterior while scurrying to my lunchtime yoga class.
A flashy exterior indeed, look at that crazy reflective yellow and silver mosaic encrusted front door, must take a peek
So this is actually a professional custom-made bicycle shop. Yes, how strange. Guess I stumbled up on the next hot spot for cyclists buy their atrocious lycra gear and hideous helmets.
Eyespy lightbulb, wouldn't it be cool to hang a bicycle on my living room wall as an extravagant accessory? Casually asked for the price of one of Luma's custom made bicycles. At a starting price of HK$25,000, guess I wont' be buying a Luma anytime soon.
I was just darting around for a bit of power lunch shopping in Landmark when I heard a whole lot of Tippity Tappity from above. I thought, Ladies Who Lunch's High heels cant' be THAT loud. Escalator up and was greeted by a surprise tap dancing performance served with the biggest smile. Made me chuckle.
Eyespy hiatus? Indeed, and for a fantabulous fashion cause! Whisked away to Georgia last week to attend the graduate fashion show for Savannah College of Arts and Design (SCAD) with an action packed whirlwind campus visit while drinking with the notorious Bryan Bradley, who happened to be the nicest guy around, Angel Sanchez adjusting my jumpsuit and deemed it too short with a wink, "Wear gowns!". Listening to the ultra feminine Catherine Malandrino's french accent was enticing enough, India Hicks tapped me on the shoulder and said, "Nice dress!" and posed for a photo with Zac Posen while he praised my sister's Pleats Please outfit. Leggy Miss J from ANTM stuffing his face with crab cakes while DVF and Andre Leon Talley fought over the microphone during a panel discussion. Just the most amazing deep South experience! Photos to come, stay tuned!
