The Thinner, Sharper, Video Chatter, 5 mega pixel photographer, Mutl tasker, iOS4-er, Cheaper iPhone 4 will go on sale in the U.S. and 4 other countries on Jun 24. Pre-orders commences Jun 15. A 15-gig model will cost US$199 and a 32-gig version will sell for US$299.

Rumours had it that the iPhone 4 will be available in Hong Kong in JULY 2010. Start making friends with your local operators!

Electric Feel: EV Charging Station at the Peak

Call it a fad, call it saving the world, but I'm all about sustainable living. Trying my best to reduce, reuse, recycle, learning how to drive and dreaming of a Lexus EV... Rainy yesterday and 2 visitors from out of town equals a trip to the Peak. Just about to get into the elevator and was caught off guard by this cheerful parking spot. Priority parking spaces and charging stations for EVs. Wow!I didn't know Hong Kong Electric has been pushing electric living via happy jungle mammals and deep sea animals since the end of last year and the Galleria's carpark is the 1st one out of the 5. Love the design, especially the cute "gas tank" socket. Three cheers to Green!

Impulse Buy of the Week: Biometric Fingerprint Door Lock

 A confession to make: I heart trade fairs. Not just the female centric fashion and jewelry fairs for the wannabe designers or the jewelry pervs, I mean, literally ANY trade fairs under the sun. I rub shoulders with the professionals - access pass around the neck and an empty carry-on luggage, I roll with them, stuffing samples, flyers and business cards into my very own trade-fair carry case. I don't have a translator like the Russians or the Americans, but I am persuasive enough to obtain adequate information. I can probably tell you where you can find the best flip-flop manufacturer and where to source heat resistant trays, USB sticks, window panes, washer/dryer drum, doll parts, picnic baskets or even fireworks! My subconscious is probably aspiring to be the next Li & Fung but to me, what better way to spend a weekend than to get acquainted with the next big household good or the next tech trend! Call me nerdy.

So, I went to the Hong Kong International Building and Decoration Materials & Hardware Fair and Eco Expo Asia on Halloween Day. Brushed passed the energy efficient light bulbs, solar panels and electric cars (that's another post) and there it is! Introducing the coolest door lock ever - my very own biometric fingerprint access system, airport security E-Channel style. A touch of my thumb and key-less forever? Yes please. In 2 months, I will be returning home, the 007 way. Absolutely thrilled!

 

I bought the above. Divine. Fingerprint access, number keypad and traditional key access, all in one fine piece of home gadget for US$300. Especially love the elegant slide-up cover.

They've just announced at the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong that the legendary Polaroid One Step Camera will be back for good starting middle of 2010! This will mark the most long awaited company waiting to be bailed out from last year's bankruptcy. Hipsters, rejoyce! No more sourcing for ancient film online and buying vintage Polarodis at ridiculous prices. No more juvenile Fuji Instax cameras as well! YAY! You will not believe how EFFING EXCITED I am as I'm typing this post. POLAROID RESCUERS aka "The Impossible Project" YOU ABSOLUTELY MADE MY DAY!

  In celebration of the relaunch of instant camera production by Polaroid, Polapremium will be selling a Celebration edition of the SX-70 camera in a very limited batch of only 8 kits. I'd pay any obscene amount for a piece of this. Up for grabs at US$430.
